Max Verstappen won the Hungarian grand prix after an exciting race starting from P10. In a race where the threat of rain was there all race but it never really did, the Mercedes driver George Russel and both the Ferrari’s had a good start and led the grand prix in the early stages. But Max Verstappen and his Red Bull team had a good strategy and soon could catch up and eventually take the lead and win the race.
Both the Ferrari drivers disappointed with a 4th and 6th place as the team made some, what many people believed to be, strategic blunders.
Mercedes will go into the summer break on a high as both drivers completed the podium.
Wow what a day! It was a crazy race, but we stayed calm and won! This feels absolutely amazing π₯

The car was great and today we adapted to the circumstances really good, so our strategy worked out perfectly. Mega job team @redbullracing π#HungarianGP pic.twitter.com/YwYTty5QXW
Haas F1 driver Kevin Magnussen and Mick Schumacher had a good start but ended the race in P16 and P14. Kevin was hindered by an early black-and-orange flag and had to do a mandatory pitstop to change his front wing because he had minimal wing end plate damage.

Kevin Magnussen
After a good start Kevin Magnussen received the black and orange flag early in the race which had him pitted very early in the race for a front wing change. He immediately changed to the hard tyre compound but had trouble to get those in the right working temperature. The early pitstop had a big effect on the rest of his race.
Mick Schumacher
After what was a good start Mick Schumacher slowly fell back down the order. He felt it the race was tougher than he anticipated. He finished P14.
Guenther Steiner
Haas F1 Principle Guenther Steiner stated it was a difficult race for the team. According to Steiner the black and orange flag Magnussen got from the FIA was clearly a mistake as the team felt it was safe to continue to drive with minimal damage. The team will use the summer break to regroup and come back in good form as in previous races.
Next race will be the Belgian grand prix
