Max Verstappen won the last grand prix of the season after a race which was all about who was getting P2 in the Championship. Both Leclerc and Perez were heading into this race with equal points so the first one to finish would get p2!
Both Redbull drivers had a good start and were leading the race early on. But when Perez opted for a 2 stop strategy while Ferrari driver Leclerc for a one stop Perez came behind the Ferrari and stuck in some traffic back on track.
After a thrilling end of the race, Perez was catching Leclerc with about 8 tenths per lap. He ended up one lap short 1.3 seconds behind leclerc on 3rd place.
After the race we saw some awesome donuts (only allowed after final race of the season) of the Ferrari, both red bull drivers and also retiring driver and 4-times champion Sebastian Vettel.
Both the Haas drivers had a rather dull day in the back of the field, both not being able to push forward. Most notable moment was when Mick Schumacher made a mistake turning into the back of Nicolas Latifi spinning both cars.
Luckily both could continue the race. Nevertheless, both Haas drivers finished 16th and 17th one lap behind the front runners.
Good news is that both Alpha Tauri drivers also did not managed to score a point and thus the Haas F1 team have secured 8th position in the constructor championship for the 2022 season!

Mick Schumacher finished 16th today although hoping for a bit more. He stated: “we did not have the pace today and we knew it would be tough to stay in position today”. He’s happy for the Haas team as P8 in the constructor’s championship means a totally different budget for next year.
