Williams Racing has announced American driver Logan Sargeant to race for Williams in 2023!
The 21 year old American driver scored 148 points and secured 4th place in his rookie season in Formula 2. He had 2 wins and another 2 podium places. With this result he got sufficient points to qualify for a Super-License to be allowed to Race in Formula One.
Logan Sargeant will be the first American driver since IndyCar driver Alexander Rossi appeared in 5 grand prix for Manor-Marussia F1 back in 2015, and the first American to drive a full F1 season since Scott Speed for Scuderia Torro Rosso in 2006.
Jost Capito, CEO and team principal of Williams was pleased to announce the completion of his 2023 driver lineup. Logan Sargeant was already in the Williams driver academy the past year and already did simulator work and joined 4 free practices in the last races of the season.
“He had a strong rookie season in formula 2, and we are excited to watch him make the step up in Formula 1”

Logan Sargeant first drive for Williams will be participating in the Post-Season Pirelli tire testing at the Abu Dhabi circuit.
